For lovers of Mexican food, Aug. 16 was a very happy day. Ottawa’s first and only dedicated tortilleria, Tortilla Maker, opened its doors and the smiles on the faces of the Jimenez-Bucur family told the story.
Angel Jimenez Reyes, Founder/President of Tortilla Maker of Mexican origin, shares his story on how his tastes for tortillas led him to found his entrepreneurship Tortilla Maker.
Artisan de Tortilla / Tortilla Maker is the first-ever tortillería to open in the National Capital Region. They are bringing the authentic experience of a traditional Mexican tortillería to Ottawa. In essence, they are a tortilla bakery, not a restaurant, where customers can buy corn tortillas fresh off the tortilla presses every day, in addition to corn tortilla chips, homemade guacamole and our original salsas – Salsas Carlota.
