Founded by Mexican-Canadian entrepreneur Miguel Angel Jiménez Reyes, Tortilla Maker serves freshly-made tortillas, their own line of salsas from family recipes, and delicious tamales. Tamale flavours include chicken and pork options with or without rajas, as well as a vegetarian mushroom-based tamale. One sweet guava and cheese option exists for dessert, too. After years of living in Oaxaca, I was thrilled when this place opened in 2023, and have eaten their items many a time — lucky for me, they’re right down the street from Gutsies, so I can get both treats at once.
